Not sure what you mean by HD conversion, but it is fairly common to have units that upsample SD to 720p or 1080i. But it's still an SD source.
exactly...the conversion hd's are just upsampling...i've talked to a few cats who've gotten their hands on some japanese models...but like i said, this discussion is more about the "near future" than it is the current prospects...hell, i still have a 10 yr old 4:3 tv
