Another strange spectral....

Seeing more weird spectrals nowadays.. Lineage:

GEAR - SONY MZRH1-HIMD-PCM MODE 16/44-AGC OFF.
- CA STC 9000 PRE AMP-2 WIRE MOD-FILTER ON.
- CA STC 11 MICS.

TRANSFER - HIMD-USB-SS 4.2-WAV-CUBASE SSX3-WAV EDIT-FLAC

I would expect the peaks to go way above 16kHz considering its PCM mode...
Took 2 screen shots..one 2 s and another 30 s time frame.

Re: Another strange spectral....

I have the exact same Hi-MD deck, my recordings normally show more highs.

Must be the mic-preamp combo... looks lossless to me (similar to the last)

Re: Another strange spectral....

I guess so too...
I know one guy modded the battery module A3 to his OKM mics and the highs are not as great, and was accused of upping a lossy show while he maintained his innocence.

Re: Another strange spectral....

the eq slope on the highs looks very analog-like and I would guess it sounds great. If that's from his mod I would try it myself to see how it sounds.
