Transferring Mini DV to DVD
What is the best way to do this?
I've read hooking up a IEEE 1394 Firewire cable to the PC from the cammie, then using whatever program you like to burn. Can anyone give me some info here, or let me know of a better way? Thanks!

Re: Transferring Mini DV to DVD
yep, any editing program will have a capture feature...hook the cam to comp via firewire, and capture
most will automatically detect the specs of the footage yer capturing, or you can manually set it No members have liked this post.

Re: Transferring Mini DV to DVD
DVDSanta is reasonable priced. Quality program?
Would VideoReDo work for something like this?

Re: Transferring Mini DV to DVD
i'm not familiar with either of those
i use the Final Cut Suite [Mac], but for PC i used Adobe Premiere [PC] a few years ago, which i can vouch for re: quality...many of the PC heads around here use Sony Vegas+DVD Architect you can get their basic versions [Premiere Elements or Vegas Movie Studio] for under a hundred bucks...full pro versions are much higher i've never worked with it, but a cheap prog some folks use is one of the TMPGEnc products [hopefully someone else can tell you which software in particular]...but remember, "you get what you pay for" typically applies when it comes to quality encoders/editing & authoring features/etc No members have liked this post.

Re: Transferring Mini DV to DVD
I'll do some research. Those products you mentioned are all good. I have also heard good things about DVDSanta, and it's cheaper. I'll look around. Thanks a lot for your help.
