Would these be appropriate for posting? *DVD SHOWS*

Not sure of the lineage of this. I know I sound like a broken record with this. lol

The first dvd has two shows on it.

The second show (second image) is split up into separate files for each show. I don't know why anyone would do that, but whatever.

And it says VCD so I don't know if it's cool (the first image).

Let me know, please.

Here's the G Spot results.

DISC 1 (2 shows) Both were broadcast. 1 TV the other (I think) Internet. Interactive menu. Chapterstops, not sure...have to check.

DISC 2 (2 shows and 1 performance)VHS sourced, probably medium or high gen. Interactive menu. Chapter stops not sure, have to check. 1 show not VHS sourced....all pro-shot. 2 (maybe all three) were TV broadcasts)

Re: Would these be appropriate for posting? *DVD SHOWS*

I can answer the question about the first show that says "Already in VCD format".... no go. Someone took a VCD and converted it to DVD format prior to burning it to DVD. That's kinda like taking an mp3 and converting it to wav and burning it to CD.

The others ones I want to say they are fine but I'll let a VBT Mod step in. I think they will ask where the show is from (as in, was it a recording of a show in the US - in which case it should be NTSC like the Disc 1- or a European show - in which case it should be PAL like Disc 2). Also, they will want to know a little more about what you see when you watch them so they can help you with the lineage.

Re: Would these be appropriate for posting? *DVD SHOWS*

Disc 2 is of the group N.E.R.D.

Show 1: Pinkpop Festival 2004. Does not have the VHS lines at the bottom/top. The colors are kinda muted, but that very well could just be the filmstock that was used.

It's obviously a digital source. Has a "divx" logo at the very beginning in the bottom corner.

It was broadcast on, I'm guessing, Dutch TV or something?

The words:

3V00R12 TV

N*E*R*D

live op Pinkpop 2004

zie ook verslag op 3voor12.vpro.nl

are on the screen at the beginning, and I believe at other points in the show it flashes on the screen.

the other two shows are Live @ The Fillmore (broadcast on MTV) and a random performance of an MTV Awards Show or something.

t5he one with the "divx" logo would likely have been encoded using the divx codec at one time and almost certainly would be reencoded... I think

Looks like I'm 1 for 4 in "postable" shows. lol

I just got those four discs, but two of them (in this thread) are not able to be posted, and a third turns out it's commercially available. The fourth was already approved and posted.

oh well....ha ha ha

lol.

Hey, at least you are trying to share and are asking the questions before going to the effort to put the shows up.

Re: Would these be appropriate for posting? *DVD SHOWS*

Disc 1 went DVD to DivX to VCD (by Nero)and authored in VCD resolution which can be done because of the "352" being a standard. So thats 3to4 re-encodes.

Disc 2 looks fine (unless it started as a USA show)..in which case it went from NTSC>PAL.
