Re: Seeding/Lineage Questions?

Hello,

While digging through some of my old tapes I found a few Clutch shows that, as far as I know, are the only recordings made of these shows. A combination of my inexperience, low end camera and the super heavy jams coming from the stage led to the audio being really bass heavy, to the point of distortion. Would it be ok to torrent these shows here? I'm not too proud of how they sound, but I'm sure any Clutch completists would appreciate them and maybe someone with a little more knowledge than me could clean the audio up and make them sound a little better.

Thanks

Re: Seeding/Lineage Questions?

I'm with Aaron, go ahead and share them. Let people know about the problems and that you would love it if someone could 'fix it up' and then share it again.

Re: Seeding/Lineage Questions?

They are video tapes, digital 8 to be exact. I'll work on capturing them tonight and hopefully start upping them this weekend.

Re: Seeding/Lineage Questions?

General question regarding seeding here at the Den. Porcupine Tree is generally a "taper tolerent" band. However for their fall '06 tour they said taping would not be allowed and all taping equipment would be confiscated if found. The reason was because they were playing unreleased material and didn't want it to get out.

The question then is what to do after the new material gets released. Obviously there are those who taped the shows anyway but have not seeded any of them. Would those shows be allowed here after the release of the new cd?

Re: Seeding/Lineage Questions?

I would think that if you wait until after the material is officially released and then you post the show, then they would be fine with it. I've known of other bands to ask the same of their tapers and have been fine with the shows getting released after the material is officially released and users have gone and purchased the CDs.

Re: Seeding/Lineage Questions?

I don't know that this is the best thread for that question, Nick. This is more a thread where users post to Staff asking if their lineage is written correctly for a torrent they want to upload (or getting help in how to correctly write the lineage for an upload). You may want to post your own thread in The Piano Bar asking if anyone is familiar with those shows and knows where you can find a site with correct source information for them.

Re: Seeding/Lineage Questions?

Speaking for me, if I'm the initial seeder, I usually keep my files on my harddrive much longer than I do if I just downloaded the show. I like to be able to reseed the show if needed. But, the basic bittorrent etiquette is that after you seed to a 1:1 ratio, you are fine to jump off the torrent.
