Android phone users - which music replay app do you use (if any)?
Downloaded a freebie, Audify, which is ... OK, but it doesn't seem to sort artists and albums properly
Does anyone use one which will, like iTunes does on my PC, read the ID3 tags properly, and sort on artist / sort artist, album / sort album, etc.? No members have liked this post.

Re: Android phone users - which music replay app do you use (if any)?
Play Music (Google's app) should handle that just fine.

Re: Android phone users - which music replay app do you use (if any)?
No, it's ignoring Sort Artist.
It's ordered by Artist, where the Artist tag has plain English artist name; A to G Harvie Swartz Jethro Tull Joe Zawinul John Abercrombie K to Z but the mp3s have Sort Artist ID3 tag populated, so they should appear in this order, ordered by surname (Abercrombie, John before Swartz, Harvie); John Abercrombie B to I Jethro Tull K to R Harvie Swartz T to Y Joe Zawinul No members have liked this post.

Re: Android phone users - which music replay app do you use (if any)?
I'm interested in a new music app for Android as well. I use Google's Play Music and it sucks. It sorts the music in a way that I hate and it forces me to hit the button on the upper right to get it to go from one track to the next while I'm listening. I only use it a half-dozen times a year so I haven't bothered to look for another one, but I would like a new one.

Phonograph. That's a very good audio player and it plays so many formats.

Re: Android phone users - which music replay app do you use (if any)?
I couldn't find Winamp in the Google app store. That's what I originally used on my phone (and still use on my computer) but I lost it in an update a couple of years ago. They had a couple that looked like it but one had ads and both weren't what I was looking for. I tried Foobar since a lot of people use that for tagging their shows, but it sucked too. I tried VLC and thought it was gonna work, but even after sorting by track and organizing them by date I still couldn't get what I wanted, which is one big list of all of the music on my phone. I don't want to have to make playlists I just want the software to load everything and put it in order. That doesn't seem like too much to ask but none of these apps have done that yet. VLC came the closest, but as I was scrolling through the songs I noticed that the final track was getting put first followed by the rest in correct order.

I have been using a Sandisk Clip Jam for most of this past year and love it. Plays wav or mp3 and takes microSD on top of an 8gb internal memory. Battery lasts a long time and its super compact.

Doesn't look like it plays FLAC's, either. Other than that, it appears to beat using a fucking phone.

I'm on 8.1 I think. There's no software involved, just copy/drag your files to the card/device. I know a previous product by them had a RockBox for flac but so far this one doesn't.

Re: Android phone users - which music replay app do you use (if any)?
Yes, I have my HiRes portable player by FiiO, as well as a couple of iPods, but I just want the phone to work in a similar way when I really don't want to carry the extra boxes or find myself without them ...

I use a little app called Shuttle. Plays everything I've thrown at it and it's free too.
