FIREWALLED - in big red letters

i'm at a loss. all the stuff i'm reading when i click on my big red FIREWALLED letters under my name are telling me to forward my ports, blah blah blah. i've done that, 6881-6889 are open as well as 50999 which is the one utorrent says its running on. i don't get it. new computer, same internet, same router and i'm only pulling in like 32k speeds.

oh, and i'm not very computer smart, so other threaeds i've seen about this talk in language that just goes

thanks for any help.

Just a shot in the dark here Andrea, but are you sure that the Windows firewall is disabled?

^^^^you allow exceptions but you have to go in and input the ports you are using manually

i did that, not working. made exceptions manually for ports 6881 - 6889 and also the port that my utorrent says its using.

now i turned the firewall off completely and it still not working.

this is frustrating

think its my bt client? this is my first time using utorrent, i've used the one that all the torrents come up in different windows before (bit tornado?) and azureus.

speeds are picking up, i've got about 60 up and 60 down, but i was getting better speeds with the old computer, and i got them big red letters still.

just turn it off. windows firewall is terrible, and more of a pain in the ass that it does good.

did you say you have a router? if you do you might have to go back into it with the new laptop.

Re: FIREWALLED - in big red letters

After you make all these changes, are you restarting the computer?

Re: FIREWALLED - in big red letters

I remember I said a few weeks back that TTD couldn't decide whether I was firewaled or not. Nowadays, its decided that I never am, even though I have PG2 running 60% of the time...
Nevermind, doesn't make a difference anyway!
