seeding a show at 98%...!?!

1 question;
well, I once seeded a show and, seeded it for a while and then jumped off again. before i deleted the flac files I burnt them onto DVDR although I have that bootleg on silver cd, just for archiving purpose. now I've seen that 3-4 people were stuck at my former torrent, they had a seed but they have been stuck for a while, so I decided to help seeding and copied the files abck to my harddrive and opened the torrent file. now my client checked the overall size of the show and it's about 98% although the files are the same as they were before, even the txt and ffp files wernet changed or something. anyone know why? will the people downloading from me end up being stuck at 98% as well although they should have downloaded the full show...?

please let me know.

What bt client are you using? I know in Azureus, you can take a look at the Info tab for the torrent and then go to the Files area. There, you can see which file it doesn't think is complete (or is missing). Did you do a Force Recheck on the torrent? That may help.

Re: seeding a show at 98%...!?!

I use uTorrent, when I take a look at how complete my files are then all the tracks will be 98%, 99% and so on in fact none of them is 100%b as it's supposed to be. my client tells me that the overall sum of the files is 456MB while on my HD its 465MB, exactly the size the torrent is supposed to be. I don't have a clue how to do a force recheck, any suggesting. a link to the show i'm speaking about is down in my signature... thanks

I believe that in Utorrent if you right-click on the torrent one of your options is "force recheck".

Re: seeding a show at 98%...!?!

ooops, now I know what went wrong, when I formerly seeded them, the files were tagged, I removed the tags before I burnt them onto dvdr. now 8 people are stuck at 98% as they all are missing the parts of the files where the taggs are written on... hopefully someone comes back for seeding...

Bump the thread so it gets seen. When you bump it, write that someone only needs to seed the show for less than an hour to finish off a few people stuck at 98%.

Re: seeding a show at 98%...!?!

I've tried, seems no-one is comming back for seeding. is there no chance of adding a function where people can ask for seeders to come back, I mean you already can see who downloaded a show but it's a bit of a pain in the ass contacting all the people who completed a torrent via pm. I'm thinkng of one pm that goes to all of the guys who completed and maybe is being read thru by a mod or something before it goes out... just an idea...
