Re: making new torrent..error -> to large.....

hhmmm, how big a show is it? Teddy uploaded his PH 12/31/99 seed that was 20+ gigs and Nightfall uploaded a torrent in the last month that was around 20 gigs...which is a good question? i think you're right, there's a limit of around 300 kb for the torrent file....Lynne?

What program are you using to make the torrent? (We've had people say they had problems uploading torrents created with torrentspy.)

Re: making new torrent..error -> to large.....

yeah, I had that problem on occasion when I used to use torrentspys...it was strange...I switched to maketorrent2 after lynne's suggestion and that worked for me. Try maketorrent2 and see if that helps

Re: making new torrent..error -> to large.....

When you create a torrent, many programs ask what size you want the 'Piece Size' to be. Default is usually pretty large, but if you make it smaller, the torrent size will be larger. Do you have the option to change that size? (Azureus suggests 2 MB for a 4 GB show I have, so perhaps choose 3 or 4 MB?)

i am using bittorrent 4.4.1..when i make a torrent the box gives me this...

make torrent file for this file/directory (search for the files/folder)
then it says piece size...32kb,64kb,128kb,256kb,512kb,512kb,1.0mb,2.0mb
i have it on 256...can't remember if it was always on this or not
then it just needs the tracker addy....

Re: making new torrent..error -> to large.....

Yeah, I think it must be the default piece size on his client. The bigger the piece size, the smaller the torrent size. Most clients adjust the piece size based on the size of the torrent folder.
