Re: Is there no overburn feature on Toast 7?

hey toto - Im using Nero 7 Ultra
recently i went to burn a CDR and it automatically asked if I wanted to "over-burn" - think the disk was 81mins+

also goto Nero Burning ROM>File>Options>Expert Features
overburn is on that page

No, there isn't. If you're on OS X 10.2 or earlier you can use MissingMediaBurner, if you're on OS X 10.3 or later then go with Firestarter FX though I've not tried burning with it on an Intel system.

Re: Is there no overburn feature on Toast 7?

No worries. I made a mistake though; MMB is fine with OS X 10.3, it's Tiger that broke it.

Re: Is there no overburn feature on Toast 7?

I'd very much doubt if DU could do it but a little bit of Googling turned up Shadowburn. I must say I've never even heard of it but apparently it supports up to 20MB of overburn so I hope it might be what you need.

Let us know if you find something, Toto, so we can add it to the FAQ.

Re: Is there no overburn feature on Toast 7?

beware of frying your drive (hardware) when using overburn... somebody was posting a few months back that they fried two drives using it. I wouldn't try it, maybe just paranoia.
