Foobar and iTunes

Hey all,
I have a question about using Foobar2000 to play the few songs that I have downloaded through the iTunes service. They are protected .m4p files (MPEG-4), but I have also used the hymn program to remove the protection and now have .m4a files. Is there some way to play these on Foobar2000? I have the special install, and I get the error message that says this:

INFO (CORE) : startup time: 282 ms
INFO (CORE) : opening file for playback :
INFO (CORE) : location: "file://C:\Documents and Settings\pnagel\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\Andy Griggs - She Thinks She Needs Me.m4a" (0)
ERROR (foo_input_std) : Scalefactor out of range
ERROR (foo_input_std) : MP4: decode error.

Thanks for any help in advance.

-Phil

Re: Foobar and iTunes

Can you please check the size of foo_input_std.dll in foobar2000/components folder? If it's not 541KB, try redownloading the special installer from the official page or get the one on Case's page.

It is 541 kb, thanks for the thought though. Any other ideas?

Re: Foobar and iTunes

where did you get protected m4 files?
all the ones i Dled you could convert to mp3/wav/aiff no prob

can't really answer your question but i know a way around it if worse comes to worse
burn them to a disc and rerip them however you want, of course a Rw would work good because i assume you don't really want them on disc since you asked about playing them in another audio program

The .m4p files that I got were the ones I downloaded from the iTunes service. When I right-click on the song in iTunes and click "Convert to WAV," it tells me "Protected content cannot be converted."
