how can it be done. I see that you can, but I keep getting errors each time I try

Im using VLC. So far i can only get it to capture as mpeg ts. But there is no sound on the video that is saved

What web stream are you trying to download? (please provide a link)
There may be better ways of capturing the particular stream...
