Burning DL Disks

I am DLing a torrent at present. It is a little over 7 Gb. I have a DL burner. It seems the torrent has a VIDEO_TS folder that has all the files. Do I just burn that folder to a disk and it will play fine? seems the way, Am I missing something?

Re: Burning DL Disks

you burn DL and Single layer DVDs the same.

I would highly recommend that you close all programs and/or reboot before burning a DL disc due to the huge amount of data being transferred.

++++++++

1. exact procedure depends on which burning software you are using
2. you don't need to do anything with the files - they are 'ready to burn'

basically, after you download your video torrent - you need to burn them as a 'Data DVD'

in some programs, you would burn them as 'backup or copy' DVD - then use the VIDEO_TS as the source folder.

thats it- honest! its only a matter of different mouse clicks, depending on which software package you use.

hope this helps

Re: Burning DL Disks

Thanks, I see that I have Roxio on my new PC, so I should be fine. That is what I thought, but I wanted to check before I made a coaster.

Re: Burning DL Disks

You might find that you still end up with a coaster - some DL media brands are not very reliable and some burners will work better with one brand of blanks than others. Garbage in, garbage out kind of thing.

Re: Burning DL Disks

Well not the brand matters. The MID is most important thing.

Media ID. Different brands can be the same discs, just branded with a different logo/brand. That is, the brand (Fuji, for example) doesn't necessarily tell you what the disc actually is (Taiyo Yuden, for example).

Re: Burning DL Disks

There´s a nice tool for making clear the media-code, at least one I´m using:
