Help with transferring/seeding/etc...!

First time uploader here. I was succesful couple years ago with turning my wav files to Flac files and then transferring them via FTP to Internet Archive. Last time i tried to do this with Etree(not with FTP), i failed miserably. Does anyone have or is there a simple instruction guide for decoding into FLAC from a wav file, then uploading here?? THanks. I have read some of the instructions on doing it and tried before, but had no luck, so i gave up. Just hoping to try again. Thanks in advance!

Re: Help with transferring/seeding/etc...!

you'll want to keep it in flac format for this site, what you uploaded to the archive should be correct for this site as well, except we use something called bittorrent for distribution here. have you used bittorrent before? or perhaps mail trading is your preference?

what shows do you want to share, and what state are they currently in on your drive?

Re: Help with transferring/seeding/etc...!

Thanks. I use Bittorrent for downloading here, but never uploaded. I'm wanting to upload some shows from the Lost Ridge Band. They have all been recorded by a friend through the SBD and converted to CD. I have them on CD. I need to convert them to FLAC and I think that can be done through TLH but i seem to get hung up there alot. The times i've tried to do this in the past have taken me hours and i get nowhere. So, i'm trying to line up all my ducks if you will, before I start trying.

Re: Help with transferring/seeding/etc...!

next step encode to FLAC level 8 using TLH

generate ffp, write a txt file (old STG layout I still prefer can be seen over here). don't forget the lineage!

name the everything 'the etree way' (best way imo)!

I could blather on for hundreds of words here and its all available elsewhere on the site, so post back and let us know how you're doing/what you need help with.

Re: Help with transferring/seeding/etc...!

you've got clear the old torrent from utorrent, then re-download the torrent from the thread you created and use that 'personalized' torrent to seed.

great job!

next time be sure to create & add the EAC log file to the folder as well to put the icing on the cake.
